ULTIMATE Super Late Models Prepare For Season Opening Double

With the start of 2011 season just around the corner, teams across the east coast are finalizing preparations for debut of the ULTIMATE Super Late Model Series. The excitement continues to build as the new series will kick of the 2011 season with action at both Modoc Speedway (March 5th) and Cherokee Speedway (March 6th). “The 2011 season and the initial ULTIMATE race are almost here”, stated ULTIMATE SLM co-owner Stan Lester. “All of the work, meetings, and planning that have went into this program is unparalleled. I am excited for the drivers, sponsors, and the fans.”

The series will open Saturday March 5th at Modoc Speedway with a $5000 to win feature. The series will follow up the opener by traveling the very next day to Cherokee Speedway in Gaffney, SC for March Madness. That event will feature a $10,000 to win extravaganza. “We have been looking forward to this weekend for quite some time,”, explained Lester. Brian Stewart (Modoc) and Lennie Buff (Cherokee) have done an outstanding job in planning and preparing for this blockbuster weekend.”

Past winners of March Madness include: Donnie Moran (2003), Earl Pearson Jr. (2004), Jeff Smith (2005), Chris Madden (2006), Clint Smith (2007), Jimmy Owens (2008), Jonathan Davenport (2009), & Scott Bloomquist (2010).
