PostSubject: WINKY MCGEE STILL GETTIN IT DONE AT FRIENDSHIP   Mon Jul 13, 2009 8:17 pm

07.11.2009) Elkin, North Carolina - Friendship Motor Speedway was back at for the thirteenth event this season under American Speed Associaiton sanction. The excitement would not be lacking as the racing this week would be great with all our loyal speedway supporters on hand watching all through the night. The weather would once again hold out as overcast skies would loom the area. This week featured all five of our regular divisions which are known as the GM Direct Automotive NDRA Pro Late Models, Southeastern Cars & Parts Limited Sportsman, Coffee House Waffle Shop Four Cylinders, JC Racing & Fabrication Renegade V-8, and the Hill Top Trading Post Donald's Automotive U-Car division.

In the GM Direct Automotive NDRA Pro Late Model event, Winky McGee of Pilot Mountain would roll into Friendship looking to make a change after Kent Peckham would claim the last three wins. McGee showed to be the class of the field as he would set quick time in two lap time trials. As the feature event was underway it would be McGee getting out to the early lead over Keith Holder. Holder would fall to the clutches of on Chris Cheek. Cheek would try his muscle at McGee but would come up just shy as Winky Mcgee would claim victory and the one hundred dollar bounty as he would roll into the 100.9 WIFM/Neighbors Stores Victory Circle. Chris Cheek of Hamptonville would claim second while Keith Holder would fall back to hang on to third. Bryan Nance still working to get his hot rod dialed in would finish fourth with Jimmy Watson in fifth. Kent Peckham would not have the best night this week after finishing sixth.

In the Southeastern Cars & Parts Limited Sportsman race, Bryan Nance of Rhonda would do the trick this week once again as he would claim two feature event wins in a row. Points leader Jeff Parsons would come up short this week in second. Daniel Moss would hold down a strong third. Richard Clew and Shawn Robinson would finish fourth and fifth.

In the Coffee House Waffle Shop Four Cylinders, the Stokes and Robbins racing entry would be the car to beat once again this week as they would roll up the victory after holding off a strong return by the Friendship famed Eddie Blackburn. Steve Faw would try his hand this week in the car that took the victory last week as he would bring it home third. Adam Piercy would have a strong and impressive run going in fourth over Steve Minton who would finish fifth.

In the JC Racing & Fabrication Renegade V-8 division, Jeff Parsons of Union Grove is still smoking and smiling in this division as he would take the checkers to add to his points lead as Derek Mastin would make a late race run on Parsons but would just not have quite the muscle to power by Parsons as Mastin would finish second over Jason Donahue in third. Fabian Anderson would have yet another consistant run in fourth while Tony Parsons would round out the top five this week.

In the Hill Top Trading Post Donald's Automotive U-Car feature, Travis Turner would look to have the car to beat this week but would come up short handed after having mechanical problems in the middle of the run. This would leave the door wide open for Brett Myers to take down win number four of the season while moving to second in the points. Matthew Nance would have a back and fourth night as he would make his debut at Friendship with a very impressive second place finish. Elizabeth Bowers would have yet another impressive run as she is just getting better and better each and every week. Todd Faircloth would finish fourth while fifth would go to Mike Miles.

Congratulations to this weeks feature winners and thanks to all the dirt racing fans, drivers, and crewmen for your support as we head into event number fourteen of the 2009 racing season on July 18th for a regular weekly championship racing show. Coming up for our next event we will feature all five of our regular divisions known as the GM Direct Automotive NDRA Pro Late Models, Southeastern Cars & Parts Limited Sportsman, Coffee House Waffle Shop Four Cylinders, JC Racing & Fabrication Renegade V-8, and the Hill Top Trading Post Donald's Automotive U-Car division. Come on out as we would love to have you as part of our dirt racing family.
